Call for Art: Xanadu Client Seeking Large Painting for Living Room

by Jason Horejs on August 15, 2012 · 4 comments

This last week we had a woman who has been receiving Xanadu’s Art Catalogue come into the gallery looking for a large piece for her newly remodeled home in Phoenix. She liked a number of pieces in the Catalogue, but she needs a major piece for the living room next to her grand piano. I asked her if she had anything in particular in mind in terms of color or subject matter and she replied that she and her husband don’t buy artwork to match the furniture – instead they are going to buy this piece and then buy the furniture to match the artwork (music to my ears!)

She did say that they generally like landscape and contemporary work -but they would look at anything that was in the right size range as a possibility.

We already have several pieces that are under consideration, but she would like to see several more options before making any decissions.

We are looking for an existing piece (no commissioned work) that measures 60″-72″ high and 48″-72″ wide. The specific size she mentioned was 72″ x 72″, but if she can’t find the perfect piece at that size she said they would prefer a vertically oriented piece to take advantage of the high ceilings.

If you currently have a piece that would be available to ship on fairly short notice, please email me a photo of the piece. Again, commissioned work is not an option so please do not email anything outside the size range mentioned above.

Please follow these instructions carefully

Email directly to me at jason@xanadugallery.com

Subject line on the email must read “CFA-JJ” and your full name (for example “CFA-JJ Mary Johnson”)

Your email must include the title, medium, size and retail price of the painting.

Please also describe whether the painting is framed, and if not, whether it need be, or if it can hang unframed.

Images must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. Sunday, August 19th.

If you have more than one image please send each image in a separate email.

If you don’t have a painting that meets these requirements but know someone who might, please forward this email to them.

Thank you for your assistance.

Jason

Thanks for the tip. I have one that looks like it’s a good fit!

Aw, so close! I’ve got paintings 72″ wide, but they are only 36″ tall. Oh well! Maybe next time.

Darn, I didnt see this until today! I have at least 10 pieces that fit these requirements… oh well. Perhaps next time.

I like that you put these type of request out there for us to be considered. I just saw it today but I didn’t have a piece that large but next time I will. I already have the canvas and have been considering what to put on it.
Thanks for the information and all the time you put into our on-gallery.

Rita
