Success Story: Gallery Representation in Canada

by Jason Horejs on August 9, 2012 · 1 comment

Hi Jason, I just wanted to let you know that I was successful in getting gallery representation. I took your Art Marketing Seminar in Calgary Alberta and used your advice in preparing my portfolio and approaching galleries. Out of 4 galleries approached, 2 were interested, 1 signed me up on the spot and took every piece of art work I had with me (7 pieces). The one who signed me on was the best one as far as galleries go and I was thinking they might be out of my league. I was wrong.

Thanks to your workshop I felt prepared and reasonably confident when I approached them. I now feel encouraged to do it again! I also took your advice to go to cities within driving distance or ones where we have people to visit. The gallery is about a 3 hour drive away. Certainly doable in a day.

So, thank you very much. You have made a significant impact on my journey towards becoming a successful artist.

Way to go! Send me your success stories by emailing me. And, of course, my book is available at www.xanadugallery.com/book.

Hi,

I would like to know if my work is consistent or not. I would say that I’m recognized for my paintings of women in red cheeks, however, people like my collage as well. Now and then, I enjoy letting loose with an abstract painting or drawing.
I want to strengthen my focus on women, because I believe I’m going in the direction of painting the entire figure, not only the face.

Thank you,
